Prafull Shiledar is a renowned Marathi poet-translator. He has three poetry collections in Marathi, one in Hindi and four books of translation. His poems have been translated into many Indian and foreign languages. He has written short stories, book reviews, film appreciations, interviews, travelogue and criticism.
Shiledar mainly translates poetry into Marathi as well as in to Hindi. He has translated Indian, American, European poetry. He has received many awards for his poetry as well as for translations including the Sahitya Akademi Award for translation. He is the editor of Marathi literary journal ‘Yugvani’.
