Dr. Pradnya Daya Pawar is a Mumbai-based Marathi poet, columnist and writer. Her work is political and deals with caste oppression and patriarchal exploitation in Indian society, and has been translated into many Indian and foreign languages.  She has five books of poetry, a two-act play, a collection of short stories (translated in English by Dr Maya Pandit as Let The Rumours Be True), three books of column-writing and two anthologies. She has received awards at state and national level. She has read at the Moscow International Book Fair. She is an Associate Professor of Marathi at Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College, Thane.
