Kiran Desai is the author of two novels, Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard for which she received the Betty Trask prize, and The Inheritance of Loss for which she received the Man Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her work has been translated into over 35 languages. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, a fellowship from the American Academy in Berlin and a Columbia University Medal of Excellence. She is currently completing a novel called The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny.
