Each country has its own tales of histories, families and strife. Many of these are poignant and intimate stories of the courageous battle to survive, which serve as inspiration to others. Step into the world of Vietnamese culture, language, traditions, and their inquiry into their own lived experiences, showing how they emerged scarred but not broken from the events of historical grief which they have faced with courage and fortitude.

Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai
Dr Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai is an award-winning writer poet and journalist. Her debut novel and first book in English, The Mountains Sing, was an international bestseller, winning many literary prizes. She has been named by Forbes Vietnam as one of 20 inspiring women of 2021.
