Ties That Bind

  • Saturday, 20th Nov
  • 3:15 pm - 3:45 pm IST

Anne Enright is one of the foremost delineators of family relationships, exploring in her novels the themes of love, motherhood, identity, family truths and ironies, with insight and compassion, but also humour, realism and frankness. She did not shy away from uncomfortable and previously “taboo” subjects like sexual abuse within a family or sexual exploitation in the work place. Her considerable intellectual force and understanding of human nature have made her body of work one of the most perceptive commentaries of the human condition.
